Clinical Assistant Professor of Accounting
Margot Howard studies how tax policy relates to investment, financing and reporting decisions.
She teaches courses in financial accounting in the Undergraduate Business Program and Master of Accounting Program. She has previously taught courses in individual income tax and tax and business strategy.
Dr. Howard has won a number of teaching-related awards, including the Best Case Award in the Carl Menconi Ethics Case Writing Competition.
Her research has been published in the Journal of the American Taxation Association and the Journal of Portfolio Management.
She worked in tax consulting for a major public accounting firm, engaging with clients all over the U.S., before she began her academic career.
She received her PhD from UNC Kenan-Flagler, her MAcc from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and her BBA from the University of Notre Dame.
