Melissa Hart teaches courses in personal and corporate finance.
She is a co-author on three financial literacy texts for college and high school: “Focus on Personal Finance” (McGraw-Hill, 2024), “Personal Finance” (McGraw-Hill, 2022) and “Focus on Personal Financial Literacy (McGraw-Hill (January, 2024).
She is a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA). She is a licensed CPA in North Carolina and Maryland.
Professor Hart worked eight years in public accounting in auditing, tax compliance and consulting.
She joins UNC Kenan-Flagler from the North Carolina State University faculty at the Poole College of Management where she received several teaching awards.
She received her MBA from North Carolina State University, with a concentration in financial management, and her BBA from the University of Maryland.
