Mirela Senger’s research interests span the fields of empirical and theoretical asset pricing, along with machine learning.

Her work delves into critical areas such as the degree of market integration, international financial markets, portfolio and expectations formation, and financial intermediation.

She teaches courses in financial economics and asset pricing, and financial management.

Her research has garnered several awards and has been featured in top-tier academic journals, including the Journal of Finance.

In addition to her research, Senger is actively involved in the academic community. She has co-organized various conferences, including events aimed at supporting early career women in financeShe joins UNC Kenan-Flagler from the University of Michigan.

She joined UNC Kenan-Flagler from the University of Michigan.

She received her PhD in economics from the University of Lugano in Switzerland. She earned her master’s degrees in financial engineering and credit risk at HEC Lausanne, and her BSc in finance at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.
