Pramita Saha brings over 15 years of experience in capital markets, sales and trading and investment banking to her teaching and center leadership roles at UNC Kenan-Flagler.
She is passionate about early education in finance and attracting students from all walks of life into finance, providing resources and support to be successful in the capital markets and investments field.
As executive director of the Center for Excellence in Investment Management, she manages and directs the day-to-day activities, developing long-range plans and annual operating plans, securing new funding sources to support its activities and students, and building effective partnerships with other parts of UNC Kenan-Flagler and UNC. She closely collaborates with the center’s faculty director, faculty steering committee, advisory board and other key stakeholders to support the top-tier investment management center.
In her teaching, Professor Saha focuses on experiential offerings. She teaches the PRojects in Investment Management Experiential-Learning (PRIME) program class for Full-Time MBA students and is co-faculty advisor in the Applied Investment Management (AIM) course for Full-Time MBA Program and Undergraduate Business Program (UBP) students. She is developing is an introductory class, Gateway into Capital Markets and Investments, for UBP students. She also supports the Fundamental Investing Practicum.
Professor Saha serves on the planning committee of Alpha Challenge, the pre-eminent MBA investment pitch competition. She led the inaugural Undergraduate Alpha Competition alongside student leaders, bringing together student participants, MBA mentors, alumni and friends of the program.
Professor Saha serves as advisor to student clubs, including the MBA Investment Management Club, Smart Woman Securities at UNC and the Fixed Income Association.
She joined UNC Kenan-Flagler in 2019 as associate director and then senior associate director of coaching for the MBA Career & Leadership team. She went on to serve as director of student and alumni engagement for the Center for Excellence in Investment Management, overseeing the student experience from recruitment through career development and alumni relations in capital markets and investments for all UNC Kenan-Flagler programs.
Before she joined UNC Kenan-Flagler she was head of loan syndicate and distribution Americas at Standard Chartered Bank and held positions at Goldman Sachs, Citi and BBVA.
She received her MBA with honors from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and her BA from Smith College.
