Terence McElroy’s research interests include the intersections of political ideology, multicultural experiences and leadership.

He teaches a required Leading and Managing course as well as leadership electives.

Dr. McElroy’s interest in organizational behavior is deeply rooted in his diverse experiences as an officer in the U.S. Army, an MBA student and a management consultant.

His time in Ranger School and Afghanistan provided firsthand insights into the profound impact of leadership and culture on behavior.

As an MBA student, he experienced the transformative power of the classroom to foster learning and growth, igniting his passion for academic inquiry and instruction.

His subsequent work as a management consultant reinforced the importance of applied research, shaping his approach to both scholarship and teaching.

Dr. McElroy’s research has appeared in Personnel Psychology.

He received his PhD from UNC Kenan-Flagler, his MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and his BS from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
