Operations Management covers a complex range of business activities associated with the coordination of resources and the effective delivery of products and services to global customers. As firms look to new business models to reduce costs, improve revenues, and meet the increasing demands of their customers, extending operations management globally is a core competency for competing in the 21st century, and a valuable skill for executives.
The Operations Management (OM) concentration is flexible. Whether you wish to pursue a role focused on operations or seek to develop broad-based expertise to support a career in consulting, entrepreneurship, digital commerce, sustainable enterprise, marketing or finance. Many students take on a dual concentration — OM and another related to their interests.
As a student in the OM concentration, you’ll benefit from active participation in the Operations Management Club and faculty, many of whom have substantial industry experience. After completing the OM concentration, you’ll have developed a portfolio of skills to drive competitive advantage through operations management.
