Conferences bring purposeful, like-minded individuals – students, faculty, and inspiring leaders from the business world — together to dissect, discuss, and, in some cases, celebrate important topics. At UNC Kenan-Flagler, students lead several conferences each year, events that support our collaborative culture and add to the overall learning experience.
When you join the Full-Time MBA Program, you’ll have the opportunity to attend, participate in, and plan these conferences. At these events, you’ll observe new perspectives and insights, join your peers in rich dialogue, and meet new contacts who can help guide and shape your career.

“I was fortunate to volunteer at UNC’s annual Healthcare Conference. In attendance were representatives from various global pharmaceutical and payer companies as well as MBA students from other top business schools. I was thoroughly impressed by the showing and was even more impressed by the strength and national reputation of UNC’s healthcare presence through UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, UNC School of Medicine, UNC Public Health and the School of Pharmacy.”
Here are a few of the conferences that students lead each year:
The Carolina Women in Business Conference (CWIB) brings together a diverse group of stakeholders — MBA and undergraduate students, alumni, business leaders and other MBA students from the region. The CWIB conference serves as a forum to foster confidence, share knowledge, and provide networking opportunities for women seeking to achieve greater impact and success. The event is also supported by the 100 Women movement, which seeks to encourage and empower future female business leaders.
The Careers with Impact Forum allows a diverse range of companies to showcase new ideas to MBA students interested in creating positive social or environmental impact. The event cover topics from corporate social responsibility to financing impact-oriented start-ups, and facilitates meaningful dialogue between MBA students and corporate leaders.
Run by the Alliance of Minority Students (AMBS), the Diversity Conference supports the organization’s key mission of supporting diversity of minorities and underrepresented groups in Corporate America. The conference explores important topics related to underrepresented minorities in business and also provides networking opportunities with UNC Kenan-Flagler alumni and business leaders. This full-day conference is open to UNC Kenan-Flagler students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as members of the business community.
The Healthcare Conference is the largest student-led conference at UNC Kenan-Flagler, co-hosted by the Center for the Business of Health, the UNC Kenan-Flagler Healthcare Club, and the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise. It brings over 400 academics, students, alumni, and industry leaders to campus to discuss critical issues across all sectors of healthcare. The overarching goal of the annual conference is for each participant to leave with a greater understanding of how interdisciplinary leaders and students across healthcare can work to solve complex and pressing issues.
