Eighteen top students are selected each year from each of the three universities. These students form a cohort who will move through the GLOBE® program together.
At UNC Kenan-Flagler, we are looking for students who have a strong academic record, interest in other cultures and international business, leadership potential, ability to work in team environments and willingness to serve as ambassadors for UNC.
Criteria for evaluation of GLOBE® applications include:
Prior international experience is not required and you do not need to speak a foreign language to participate in the program.
You may apply during the fall of your sophomore year only. Admission is based on the Undergraduate Business Program application for the Business Administration Major, an additional GLOBE® essay, and a separate GLOBE® interview process. The application deadline for the GLOBE® program follows the Undergraduate Business Program application deadline.
Selected students will be notified during the fall semester. New GLOBE® participants will enroll in three business core courses and one business elective in the spring semester as prerequisites before going abroad.
You will spend one semester at each of the three partner universities, starting with an immersive Outward Bound program for GLOBE® students before the semester begins at UNC. The comprehensive global curriculum consists of two courses from each institution, designed to provide insight into each school’s region and specialization. Courses are taught by distinguished faculty and are only available to students in the GLOBE® Program.

Upon admission, you will enroll in three business core courses and one business elective in the spring semester as prerequisites to going abroad. You must complete the prerequisites no later than the fall of your sophomore year.
While abroad, you will enroll in a full-time schedule of courses to meet your degree requirements and graduate in eight semesters.
In addition to the two GLOBE® courses at each partner university, you may receive credit abroad for business core and elective courses, General Education requirements and courses toward a second major or minor. An academic advisor will work closely with you to ensure completion of all requirements.
All coursework is taught in English.
