This Global Immersion Elective will build your knowledge of the global business environment by focusing on business issues that arise in emerging markets when companies operate in an environment of high political and macro-economic uncertainty. By focusing on two neighboring cities on either side of the Rio Plata, this program highlights contrasts in aspects of the business environment that we often take for granted in the United States, such as the importance of trade and industrial policy, social forces, and political structures, in shaping business opportunities. A comparative approach also allows us to explore opportunities for regional development and cooperation across borders.
Throughout the program, you will be encouraged you to develop cross-cultural understanding, communication, and teamwork in a global environment.
The program will visit Buenos Aires, Argentina, and will include travel to Montevideo, Uruguay. Students will engage in company visits in both cities, as well as cultural activities in both cities.
Dr. Kristin Wilson, Clinical Assistant Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, will lead this immersion.
