Spend eight weeks living and working in the city of eternal spring. Nestled in a lush valley surrounded by beautiful mountains, Medellin is one of the fastest developing cities in South America.
During this summer experience, you will apply the theories and concepts you’ve learned in class to an international working environment — learning and practicing the professional customs, behaviors and norms of another culture.
The skills you develop on this internship will transform you as a leader and give you a distinct competitive advantage in the job market. Along with practicing fundamental workplace skills, you will demonstrate that you can work in a diverse environment, adapt to change, be a flexible problem solver and integrate successfully into a diverse and cross-cultural team — all high-demand skills for today’s globally minded employers.
Equipped with stunning landscapes, rich natural resources, and the second largest economy in South America, Colombia has been labeled the “next star of the continent.” Medellin has a bustling innovation and technology scene and is bursting with street art and cultural festivals. You’ll explore its scenery and activities, and enjoy the affordability and accessibility to other points of interest in Colombia.
You will be placed with a third-party provider, The Intern Group, and will work a total of 224 contact hours over the course of the internship.
The Intern Group’s internship services include:
- Telephone pre-placement meeting with The Intern Group placement manager
- Placement of student in a professional practice internship
- Follow-up and any required trouble-shooting
Coordination with each internship supervisor and receipt of the supervisor’s and the student’s written evaluations.
