TREBLE is the successor program to the GLOBE program, which ran for 20 years in partnership with the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Copenhagen Business School. The TREBLE program opens scholar selection applications in the fall 2024 Undergraduate Business Program admission cycle and will welcome the first cohort of students from Singapore Management University (SMU) and Copenhagen Business School (CBS) to UNC-Chapel Hill in the fall of 2025. A refreshed and integrated global curriculum will emphasize cross-cultural business leadership on the three campuses.
The TREBLE program will build upon an impressive legacy of nearly 1,000 GLOBE alumni living and working around the world. Joint GLOBE/TREBLE alumni programming will offer engagement opportunities for all program alumni from the US, Denmark, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

You will be enrolled in two TREBLE electives in each location focusing on the strengths of the region. Your schedule will be rounded out with BUSI core classes and other curriculum choices to keep you on track for graduation in four years at UNC.
No. All TREBLE coursework is conducted in English and English is the common language of communication among UNC, SMU, and CBS students. It is not expected or necessary for students to speak Malay/Mandarin or Danish to study in Singapore or Copenhagen.
The TREBLE Program is designed to be completed while allowing you to graduate within the standard eight semesters at UNC. We offer academic advising to ensure that you stay on track with all your requirements.
TREBLE participants have completed second majors and minors in a wide variety of areas. Past program participants have double majored in such areas as Economics, Public Policy, and Global Studies and minored in subjects including Asian Studies, Philosophy, and Computer Science. Your individual academic plan will determine if it is feasible to do a double -major or -minor.
All study options are possible with prior planning and realistic expectations. TREBLE candidates should discuss the program’s implications with both their main campus advisor and advisors at Kenan-Flagler to determine their individual plan of action.
Many study abroad programs at UNC qualify for honors credit, including TREBLE. TREBLE semesters in residence at SMU and CBS allow for registering at least one course of a student’s choosing to fulfill double major, minor, or other UNC graduation requirements. We encourage students to meet with both their main campus advisor and advisors at Kenan-Flagler to determine individual plans of action.
Any Area of Emphasis is possible with TREBLE. Multinational Finance, Consulting, and Entrepreneurship are the most common, but past participants have done Investment Banking, Real Estate, and Marketing Management.
Undertaking recruitment activities abroad requires planning and communication, but the opportunity to talk about studying business on three continents helps candidates stand out from the rest of the pool. The unique global business experience you will gain in the TREBLE program will give you a competitive advantage when seeking internships and full-time jobs.
As a TREBLE student, you will have access to individualized career coaching before departure and while you are abroad. You will be on-campus at UNC for internship recruiting during the Fall semester of your Junior year. For the spring term when you are abroad, firms utilize virtual recruiting in their process. Additionally, you can leverage the engaged and sizable program and UNC alumni networks for career opportunities. GLOBE/TREBLE will soon be entering its third decade, and the program now has almost 1000 alumni living and working around the world.
